Feb 2017 – Aug 2019·Utrecht, Netherlands·full-time·Remote
Primary technical anchor for an energy-monitoring SaaS platform, owning the frontend architecture and field agent tooling while also leading IT strategy, assets, and business-process alignment as the company scaled.
Sensorfact helps industrial companies optimise energy efficiency and reduce costs through real-time energy monitoring. Joining during the initial startup incubator phase, I served as the primary technical anchor, building the core frontend foundation, field agent tooling, and early Agile operations that allowed the company to scale rapidly.
Responsibilities
- Designed and implemented the complete frontend architecture for the main energy-monitoring platform, establishing foundational patterns and code standards that remained in production for years.
- Built specialised in-house applications for field agents to streamline installation and data collection, while setting up early Scrum planning workflows to bring structure to the development cycle.
- Led the frontend vision, managed IT assets and projects, and streamlined internal business processes with digital technology to align engineering output with company strategy.
- Established clear technical standards, repeatable code patterns, and dependable build pipelines, enabling downstream teams and subsequent engineering hires to scale seamlessly.
